Stanley Bokland of Nordland Aug. 4, 1945 to April 29, 2008 Veteran Stanley E. Bokland Jr. of Marrowstone Island passed away on April 29, 2008, at Jefferson HealthCare with his family by his side. Stanley was born in Seattle, Washington, on August 4th 1945, to Stanley E. Bokland Jr. and Margaret Caldwell Bokland. He graduated from Vashon High School in 1964. He was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War. On April 4th 1972, he was honorable discharged. He was hired by Fred Hill Materials on October 24th 1975, and continued to work for them through out his life, thoroughly enjoying each day with them. He was an active member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 589. He moved to Marrowstone Island on August 3rd, 2003, with his loving companion, Dody Woodside, where he enjoyed walking on the beach, watching ships go by and enjoying Island life. He enjoyed crabbing, shrimping, fishing and spending time with his friends. He leaves behind his brother, Scott Bokland of Vasion Island; and his sister, Kyle Fleishbein of Anacortes. Also his companion, Dody Woodside, and her children, Denise (Troy) Craig of Pt. Hadlock, Julie (Reza) Golzarian and children Erick, Megan and Joseph of Portland, Oregon, Rollie (Tina) Hanna and children Richard, Gatlin and Felicia of Pt. Townsend and Paula McCammon of Lynnwood, Washington. Memorial Service to held at Kosec Funeral Home on May 10th, 2008, at 1 p.m. followed by gathering at Fort Worden Chapel for family and friends.
