She lived on the same street until November 2011. Education: South High School, 1938 LDS Mission: New England States Mission Life's Work/Service/Interests: Romona was employed at the "Arms Plant" and at Fort Douglas during World War II, after graduating from high school. While awaiting the return of her fiancé, Bill, from the war, she served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1944-1945. Romona married William Robert Ekblad in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they had six children. He preceded her in death in 1989. Romona Peterson Ekblad passed from this life on June 16, 2013, at the home of her son, Alan and his wife Rhonda. She was 91. Religion/Associations: LDS Church, a member of the Wells Ward and Lincoln Wards most of her life, where she served in many positions in the Primary and Relief Society; LDS mission. Survived By: Her six children: Robert Morley (Barbara) of Sandy; William Alan (Rhonda) of Kaysville; Colleen Christensen (Dale) of Magna; Marlene Beagley (David) of La Verkin; David Lynn of Magna; and Douglas Reed (Shelley) of Salt Lake City; 28 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.
